Sign the Gamers Petition!
Aug 5th
I got this email from the ECA (Entertainment Consumers Association) regarding a gamers petition. Anyway, here’s is a small snippet.
For nearly two decades, elected officials have tried to regulate which video games you can buy, rent and play. Every single time they’ve passed a law, the federal courts have struck it down as unconstitutional. But this may change this fall.
The Supreme Court of the United States has agreed to hear the State ofCalifornia’s infamous ‘violent video game case,’ Schwarzenegger v. EMA. That means that this year, or early next, the Court is going to decide whether to agree with the lower federal courts or not.
Here is the full link. If your a gamer, sign it.

PS3 Slim Laptop mod
May 16th
I’ve had this tab open for about a week. I’ve been meaning to post this, but I just keep forgetting. Anyway, this is totally kick ass. I would so do/buy this if I had the extra time/$$ to spare. Either way, kudos to the creator.

Bike update
May 15th
So, yeah, I’m supposed to get my bike, or so I thought at least on May 22, but I was mistaken. Cannondale ships the bike out from their factory to my LBS (Local Bike Shop) on May 22, and then my LBS wont get it until about 4-5 days later. Save time for assembly, and theoretically, I wont be riding until first week of June. Ungh, at least this gives me and extra week to buy pedal’s since I’ve been procrastinating on it.

This is actually pretty cool. I’ve seen this posted many times in Facebook, but just now got the chance to watch it.
Best video game intro ever…..
Apr 9th
One of the segments on today’s X-play list’s their top 5 video game intro’s. Their list was, well, odd. While they were good intro’s, I don’t think they would be the best of all time, but, that also got me thinking, what would be my 5.
I drew a blank to be honest. I might have to think this out, and maybe go down to the basement and look at my collection to refresh my memory. Actually I’m lying, I just need to come up with four. One of my favorites, bar none would be Gran Turismo 4′s US intro movie. With the classical sounds of ‘Moon Over the Castle’ to the fast rock sounds of Van Halen’s ‘Panama’, it just molded so well together. With Eddie’s riffs synchronized oh so well with the in game movie, it was just perfection.
Now normally I would post up a you tube link at this point, but unfortunately with this whole copyright business and the big record companies not wanting to let us fans enjoy it again and again, I was not able to find the US version of the intro. It’s a shame really, it’s not like it’s being shared, it’s just being enjoyed. it’s you tube for crying out loud! Why would they mute that out?! Seriously?! I will find a way to get it somehow. I do still have my GT4, and a first gen PS3, so I will be able to get it running.
In any case, here’s X-Play’s list.
Final Fantasy XIV Screenies.
Mar 31st
Just read this on the Playstation blog update over on Facebook. Square Enix showed off their character creator and some screen shots of the opening sequence of FF XIV.
I find this quite funny, since this morning, my good friend Triptych (did I spell that right -A-?) mentioned some new news about FF XIV to me this morning in an e-mail (something about de-emphasizing group play or whatever, I really don’t know since I’m not that much into MMORPG’s), and then soon there-after, I saw this while checking up on my FB updates on my Blackberry Storm. What’s even funnier is, I said I’d mention her one day on this blog a few days ago, and lo and behold, I just mentioned her.
I any case here’s the link to Gameinformers news on FF XIV.
‘Asian girl crushed’ article

Not Much
Mar 25th
Nothing doing today as I want to get some FF XIII in. Just a quick note, saw the yesterday’s and today’s X-play, and their continuing coverage on Splinter Cell: Conviction. It’s looking really good. I’m particularly excited about the co-op component of the game.
Few more notes, they gave Just Cause 2 a 4 out of 5. I played the demo, and it was very satisfying, I found the controls feeling loose. (not quite as tight as Uncharted 2 or God of War III) I am not sure if I want to purchase this game, I haven’t been into sandbox titles lately. I haven’t even gone through much of GTA IV, never beat Mercenaries 2 and Red Faction: Guerrilla. I do want to get both games again as I’ve traded them already. I might purchase it when it goes on the discount bin. They also reviewed another Dynasty Warrior game, it got a 2 out of 5, and Red Steel 2, which got a 3 out of 5
I had big hopes to that game, they stated that the enhancements were good enough, but the lackluster scenario (samurai western?) and the Resident Evil like door loading screen really dropped the bomb on that one. The graphics look really good tho, and the motion control plus works really well on it.
I will have more tomorrow, more fitness stuff too, I might add on another category just for that.
Off to Final Fantasy now.
Jailbreak your DSLR…?
Mar 25th
I ran across this from one of the many ‘newsletters’ I get from various sources. This really seems interesting.
Basically, it will allow you to control your DSLR with a Nintendo DS! I did not get too in-depth with it, so I’m not sure what’s supported, features, etc, etc.
